North Midlands Regional Dressage Qualifiers 2024
Monday 13th May 2024
Twenty-nine competitors from Belvoir Vale, Helen Atkins, Scropton and Wenlo RDA groups had a brilliant time taking part in the North Midlands Regional Dressage Qualifiers held in Scropton Horse Centre, Derbyshire on Monday 13th May 2024.
We were delighted to welcome back dressage judge, Moira Richardson underway.
Our Dressage judge Moira commented on the competition:
“The weather was very kind to us during the competition. The sun made an appearance but was definitely outshone by the smiles of the competitors. What a joy to see so many happy faces and excellent tests being ridden. Good luck to all those to qualified for Hartpury and I look forward to seeing you all again in the future.” Said Moira.
There were two new trophies presented this year. The Hercules Shield was donated by Scropton RDA to mark their much loved horse Hercules’ 10th anniversary as an RDA horse. The shield went to Grace Cuddington from Belvoir Vale RDA for the highest junior score. Grace wasn’t able to attend the event but submitted a filmed test which earned her a fantastic score of 71.39%.
The second trophy was the Wimbledon Shield for the highest senior dressage score, donated by Matthew Dalley in memory of his horse Womble. This was awarded to Vivienne Milburn from Helen Atkin RDA who achieved a score of 71.5% riding Hercules who she had borrowed for the event from Scropton! Matt said “I am delighted to donate this shield; I have lots of happy memories of riding Womble in the regional qualifiers and at the RDA Nationals, and thought this would be a great way to remember him.”
The Wimbledon Shield goes to Vivienne!
Regional Publicity Officer Matt Dalley presented the Wimbledon Shield to Vivienne from Helen Atkin RDA at end of the competition.
All the event volunteers were presented with a golden 'thank you' rosette for their brilliant contributions such as the writers, scorers, stewards, first aid, safeguarding, the ladies serving refreshments in the coffee bar.

Congratulations to all of our dressage competitors who have qualified for the RDA National Championships in July and a big well done to our competitors who came second and third place respectively.

We are pleased to announce that two of Scropton RDA show jumping riders, Ruby and Holly, both came first in their classes in our Virtual Show Jumping Qualifiers securing their qualification to the RDA National Championships. Thank you to Claire Pope for judging this.
