Funding for young disabled athletes

(March 22, 2010)

We have recently been informed that funding for young disabled athletes is currently available from the Enable Sport initiative.

The national initiative has been launched by national charity, Caudwell Children, with sponsorship from Barclays Wealth.

Since its launch, the Charity has helped hundreds of sporting youngsters reach their potential by providing sports equipment such as wheelchairs, javelins and gymnastic equipment.

The Charity has now announced that funding is still available and that applications for specialist sporting equipment are welcomed from any sport.

The key criteria for successful funding are:

·         Application must be on behalf of individual child – not a team or organisation

·         Beneficiary must be under 19 years old at time of application

·         The child must be engaged in competitive sport and the equipment will aid their development

·         Applicants are means tested to ensure the most needy applicants receive donations

An application form for the funding is attached, if you have any questions please contact Nikita Podszus at Caudwell Children on 01782 600438 or nikita.podszus@caudwellchildren.com  please also see their website www.caudwellchildren.com
