Training to be Champions

TRAINING TO BE CHAMPIONS - Five riders from the North Midlands benefited from extra training towards the RDA National Championships to be held at Hartpury College, Gloucs on July 17th & 18th.

 The training was funded by the Dance Fund from RDA National and the session held at Mount RDA group’s new home at Somerby Livery Complex , Leics.

Karen Thompson, Regional Dressage Co-ordinator, invited Christine Porterfield to give valuable tips and advice to the riders on how to get those important extra marks that will help to win the class...........

Chris is a well respected international judge for Para Dressage, and a list 2a British Dressage judge. She has a great rapport with the riders and was quick to pick out key movements to focus on to help improve the way of going at all levels.

Emma Wells, who had travelled from Grimsby to take part in the training, said

"Chris showed me how to make the walk more active to gain better marks in the test so now I feel much more confident and prepared for the big day in July"
 
Kate Mosley from Mount group commented that "I learnt to use my body more to turn the horse and to give positive signals"
 
All the riders felt they had benefited hugely from the day and are now training hard towards the National Championships.
