It was an fantastic day for the Regional Countryside Challenge Qualifiers on Friday 17th May at Scropton RDA Centre. We have nine groups and 41 competitors over the region, it was first time for Cleethorpes & Grimsby competing in the Countryside Challenge qualifiers this year.

Our judges Doug Smith and Patricia Stevens joined us for the day to judge the Countryside Challenge qualifiers alongside fabulous writers Bekah & Megan from University of Nottingham Equestrian. It was a pleasure to having Emma Balls joining us to help with judging the Regional Arts & Crafts qualifiers and the official photographer Nigel Kirby and it was so lovely to see their parents, supporters, carers and volunteers cheering on their riders.

Over 4 classes, we saw all competitors rode the course so very well throughout the day to show their fantastic effort in producing some great rounds. It was fantastic to see every horses and ponies turned out so beautifully from various groups and the weather was totally nice when the sun came across the course in the late morning until end of the competition. A big thank you to the volunteers who played a fantastic role with supporting us on the day including behind the scenes, on the course, scoring, running coffee bar - we appreciate it so much.

Massive congratulations to those riders who has secured their qualification as well as Arts & Crafts winners for the RDA National Championships joining our Dressage and Showjumping participants together at Hartpury in July represented our region - Good luck to all of you. Well done to all of our competitors who competed on Friday receiving their wonderful Riding for the Disabled’s 50th Year rosettes alongside the Regional Participant Rep Matthew Dalley and the judges Emma, Doug and Patricia.
